1. What is your experience in planning weddings? I graduated from Pennfoster out of Pennsylvania in 2011 but my natural skill and knowledge in planning a wedding or event is very unique.
2. How long have you been in business & how many weddings have you done? As a official business I am just starting, but I have helped planned over 7 weddings and over 15 miscellaneous events
3. What will you offer me for your services? In our first official meeting in person for the first 2 hours with a payment of $25 the packages of the services will be discussed.
4. Do you provide a contract? As a professional wedding/event planner I will provide you with a contract outlining the terms of service. It will also include a clause about cancellations.
5. How much of my time do you expect planning my wedding will take? Depending on the schedule and ballpark figures on how much time you will spend on making decisions for your wedding.
6. Can you work within my budget? As a good wedding planner I will be honest with you on the subject of what it will cost to make the wedding you want. I will figure in my fee and not surprise you when it comes time to settle up.
7. Is this your full-time or part-time job? Do you foresee any conflicts in this situation? As a part-time planner you will rarely notice I have a full time job as well. Also I will be sure you are comfortable with my arrangements.
8. Do you double book weddings? Will there be any conflicts on the day or weekend of my wedding? As a wedding/Event planner I manage this quite well. My plans to make sure your wedding is first priority, is very important to me.
9. Who backs you up? Do you have extra staff and is there an extra charge? As of now I am a independent Wedding/event coordinator but if needed there is availability for extra staff.
10. Do we pay you one fee and then you pay the vendors, or do we pay the vendors individually? Many vendors require deposits or final payments before your event which you will pay. Knowing the payment structure is very important and avoids confusion which we will not have an issue with.
11. Are you available for all meetings with the caterer, location and other vendors? Depending on the package or the agreement made. But I will always be there to walk you through important steps.
12. Will you personally attend my wedding? A professional wedding planner will always say yes. So of course I will be there.
13. If you cannot attend my wedding? Who is your backup? Will I meet him or her beforehand? As stated I have a couple backup staff that may attend. There shouldn’t be any extra fees for this.
14. What’s in your wedding emergency kit? As a professional wedding planner I will show it to you or give you a list of its contents. It should include items from a sewing needle and thread to aspirin.
15. Do you charge for travel or is it included in your fee? This will be spelled out in the proposal or contract depending on package.
16. Give me some problem scenarios and how you fixed them. During our first consultation more examples can be given. One example is a brides cake collapsed while a set of parents had to drive it to the reception because of miscommunication of the vendor, in this case the bride needed to be informed but not to be worried or stressed because another cake was on the way just not identical and the price paid to the vendor was disguised a few days after the wedding for the confusion of needing it to be delivered! All in all the bride and groom still had a beautiful cake they smashed into each others faces.
17. Do you require a deposit to get started? When is the final payment due? This should be spelled out in the proposal at our initial meeting.
18. Do you charge for the initial meeting? There is a $25 charge for the first 2 hour consultation. That will be well worth the money and excitement for your special day if you choose me as your wedding/event coordinator.
19. Do you have any formal event planning education? As stated I did Graduate with my Wedding/Event Coordinator Degree in 2011. I also have over 12 years experience with hospitality and customer service as you will be more than welcome to look over my review and cover letter.
20. What will you not do? Depending on the package or agreement made it will be spelled out in my proposal and/or agreement
